Products & Fit

How do I choose the right frame size?

Check the measurements shown on the product page and compare them with a pair that already fits comfortably. Frame width, lens width, bridge width and temple length provide a more reliable guide than face shape alone.

What do the frame measurements mean?

Frame width is the complete width of the front. Lens width measures one lens at its widest point. Bridge width is the distance between the lenses, while temple length measures the arms from the hinges to their ends.

Which frame shape will suit me?

Face-shape guides can provide inspiration, but they are not strict rules. Choose a frame whose proportions feel balanced, fit securely and reflect your personal style.

Are all colours exactly the same as the photographs?

We aim to represent every colour accurately. Screen settings, lighting and natural variations in recycled or patterned materials may cause small differences in tone and finish.

How should the glasses fit?

The frame should sit comfortably without pressing the temples, repeatedly sliding down the nose or touching your cheeks. Your eyes should appear reasonably centred within the lenses.

Aa Reading Glasses

How do I choose my reading strength?

If you already use comfortable ready-to-wear readers, your current strength provides a useful starting point. Otherwise, use our Reading Strength Guide and choose the lowest strength that makes ordinary text comfortably clear.

Is the Reading Strength Guide an eye test?

No. It provides general shopping guidance and does not perform an eye examination, diagnose an eye condition or issue an optical prescription.

What does the plus number mean?

The plus number indicates the magnifying power of the lenses for near tasks. Higher numbers provide stronger near assistance, but stronger does not necessarily mean more suitable.

Do ready-to-wear readers have the same strength in both lenses?

Yes. Standard ready-to-wear readers use the same spherical power in both lenses. They do not correct differences between the eyes, astigmatism or other individual prescription requirements.

Can I use reading glasses for a computer?

Possibly, but computer screens are normally viewed farther away than books or phones. A strength that works for close reading may feel too strong for screen work.

Can I use reading glasses for driving?

No. Standard reading glasses are intended for close-up tasks and should not be used for driving or activities requiring clear distance vision.

Sunglasses

Do Oceanides sunglasses provide UV protection?

Lens specifications are displayed on each product page. Where stated, Oceanides sunglasses feature UV400 lenses designed to protect against UVA and UVB radiation.

Are the lenses polarised?

Polarised lenses are included where this is expressly stated in the product description. Check the specifications of your selected model before purchasing.

What is the benefit of polarised lenses?

Polarised lenses are designed to reduce reflected glare from surfaces such as water, roads and glass.

Can I look directly at the sun while wearing sunglasses?

No. Sunglasses are not designed for direct observation of the sun, artificial UV sources or solar eclipses.

Are the sunglasses suitable for driving?

Check the lens category and use restrictions shown on the product or packaging. Very dark lenses may not be suitable for driving, particularly at night or in low-light conditions.

Materials & Purpose

What are Oceanides frames made from?

Our eyewear collections use recycled plastic selected and processed for frame production. The specific material information for each model is displayed on its product page.

Does recycled material affect the appearance?

Recycled and patterned materials may show subtle variations in colour, transparency or texture. These small differences can make each frame visually distinctive without affecting its intended function.

How are the frames made?

Our process includes selecting suitable recovered material, transforming it into recycled pellets, developing the frame design, manufacturing the components and inspecting the finished product.

How should I recycle the packaging?

Check the symbols and disposal instructions on each packaging component. Recycling requirements vary by location, so follow the guidance provided by your local authority.

Will I have to pay customs duties?

Orders crossing a customs border may be subject to import VAT, duties or carrier handling charges. Review our Shipping & Delivery Policy before ordering.

Exchanges & Returns

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

Yes, when you return or exchange a product because you changed your mind, selected the wrong model, colour, size or reading strength, or simply no longer want it. If the product is not faulty, damaged or incorrect, the customer arranges and pays for return shipping.

Who pays if the product is faulty or incorrect?

If the product is faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or otherwise does not conform to the order, Oceanides will cover the necessary return costs in accordance with applicable law. Contact us before returning it.

How long do I have to request a return?

Eligible online purchases may be returned within 14 days of receipt, subject to the conditions explained in our Exchanges & Returns Policy.

What condition must the product be in?

The product must be unworn beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it, undamaged and returned with its original case, accessories and documentation.

Can I exchange a model, colour or reading strength?

Yes, subject to return eligibility and stock availability. When the original product is not faulty, the customer pays the cost of returning it to Oceanides.

How will I receive my refund?

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to credit the funds.

Product Care

How should I clean my glasses?

Rinse them with lukewarm water and, if necessary, use a small amount of mild soap. Dry them gently with a clean microfibre cloth.

Which cleaning products should I avoid?

Avoid abrasive cloths, household cleaners, solvents, alcohol-based products and excessive heat unless the product instructions expressly permit them.

How should I store them?

Keep your glasses inside their protective case or cover when they are not being worn. Avoid placing the lenses face down on hard or rough surfaces.

Can heat damage the frame?

Yes. Do not leave the glasses on a car dashboard, next to a strong heat source or anywhere exposed to unusually high temperatures.

How should I put them on and remove them?

Use both hands whenever possible. This helps reduce unnecessary pressure on the hinges and keeps the frame correctly aligned.
